COSON, which is the sole collective management association (CMO) approved by the Nigerian copyright commission to act on behalf of authors. composers, performers, publishers of musical works and sound recordings, is holding is having its week long program which began on Sunday, 19th May 2013 in an event tagged 'COSON in the church' that held in the household of GOD church.
It was well attended by a lot of the industry's notables and was said to be and refreshing experience. On Monday the 20th, was the 'COSON lecture' given by the renowned professor Helge Ronning (with credentials a mile long) of the department of media and communication at the university of Oslo and also the chairman of the Norwegian Copyright Development Association. other distinguished and knowledgeable speakers from the justice department, NCC, NORCODE, Norwegian embassy, Pan-African university and media were also present and created an interactive session with the stakeholders in the house.
Yesterday, Tuesday the 21st was the 'COSON in the street' where music artistes came out in their numbers to control traffic, clean up, feed and generally create awareness of the good we can all do.
Wednesday the 22nd , 'the COSON green ball' which is a fund raising dinner and also the official launch of the COSON music foundation. It is slated to hold at the Muson center. Thursday the 23rd, will feature the finals of the COSON all stars table tennis blow out at the Teslim Balogun studio. Friday the 24th is 'COSON at the Mosque' while the capping event is on Saturday the 25th tagged 'The COSON song awards' which promises to be a star studded event while recognizing music personas that have been outstanding.
As the team says, the week promises to be a WOW! experience...
