Freeze blasts Etcetera in supposed anonymous tweets!

Last Saturday, singer turned writer Etcetera wrote an article titled 'On-Air-Personalities, you have killed radio' where he criticized OAPs saying all they do is glorify celebs, recycle their music, chase fame and fake accents, amongst other things (read it here). Well, one of the OAP's has replied him.

Freeze Coolfm, who doesn't mince words, fired shots at him on Twitter this evening. He may not have mentioned Etcetera's name but which other singer turned columnist has been criticizing some of his colleagues in his controversial write ups? well Freeze, just thought to point out the 'F' word...remember the what the good Book says about it and hell? use it not at all. See more tweets after the cut...lol!

Dancing the night away
With the announcement of the second edition of the Taruwa Festival of Performing Arts in Nigeria came a promise to deliver ‘amazing’ events in Theatre, Music, Fashion, Spoken word, and Dance. That promise was kept as Lagos was treated to a rich collection of events in performing arts from Wednesday, June 4, till Saturday, June 7, 2014.
Taruwa Festival kicked off on June 4, 2014, with ‘The Engagement’, a play written by award-winning Author and playwright, Sefi Atta.
The launch edition of the festival which held last year, received accolades and rave reviews with the successful staging of Bobo Omotayo’s bestseller London Life Lagos Living, and this year the stage was lit even brighter with the ‘The Engagement’, which depicted a family at odds on the day of their daughter’s engagement ceremony, complete with drama you would expect from a dysfunctional African family; Sefi Atta’s gentle, yet bold narrative voice unmistakable.
The play featured a brilliant cast and was directed by the talented Kenneth Uphopho of ‘Harvest of Soyinka’ plays ‘Trials of Brother Jero’ and ‘Death and the King’s Horseman’.
The excitement Continued on Thursday, June 5, with ‘Ijodee International Dance Exchange’, a dance show which featured about seven dance companies including, Ijodee, Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria [SPAN], and Drumsview. The event was curated by popular dance ambassador and enthusiast, Dayo Liadi.
On Day three, there was a Special Festival edition of the famous Taruwa Night, an entertaining evening of Music, Spoken word, monologues and comedy by carefully selected acts including, Modele, Bez, and a surprise appearance by popular 90s musician and ‘Roseanne’ crooner, Blackky, who rocked the stage and got everyone on their feet.
On Saturday, June 7, 2014, after 3 days of  amazing events in Theatre, Dance, Spoken word, comedy and Music, Taruwa Festival came to a grand close with The ANKARA BALL, a glamorous Ankara-themed night of fine dining, wine, exquisite entertainment and beautiful people.

Multiple award winning Nigerian singer, Kefee, passes on...

Nigerian Singer Kefee Obareki Don Momoh, popular for hits  'Branama' and 'Kokoroko' is dead.
Kefee who married radio OAP Teddy Don Momoh in 2013 is said to have gone into a coma after collapsing on a 14-hour flight while headed to Chicago for an event about two weeks ago.

She was alleged to have been diagnosed of having pre-eclampsia – which is a pregnancy induced high blood pressure, and her husband enjoined Nigerians to pray for her recovery....all this happened within a space of a week.

Unfortunately she didn't make it, as on the morning of June 13th 2014, the internet, news and the general public were abuzz with the news of her passing at the US hospital.

In the span of her career, the lady with a beautiful voice and even more beautiful smile that could light up a room had worked with a lot of a-lister artistes, won several awards, sang inspirational and love songs that just lifted the soul, even had a restaurant business, still had a lot of untapped potential and the sudden cut of that promise is sad and a shock to everyone.

May her soul rest in the bosom of the Lord, Amen.

Niigerian-American singer Zara Gretti passes on

Zara Gretti - March 2014 - BN Music - BellaNaija 01
Nigerian-American singer Zara Gretti is dead.
Zara whose real name is  Margaret-Mary Joseph is known for her hit songs including “The Flyest” and “Teno”.
In the past, she was open about her battle with multiple sclerosis. The Mayo Clinic defines Multiple sclerosis (MS) as “a potentially debilitating disease in which your body’s immune system eats away at the protective sheath (myelin) that covers your nerves. Damage to myelin causes interference in the communication between your brain, spinal cord and other areas of your body. This condition may result in deterioration of the nerves themselves, a process that’s not reversible.”
Zara is believed to have died on the 28th of March 2014.

Over the last 2 years, Zara had chronicled her painful MS journey via social media pages including instagram and twitter. She recently shared that she could no longer walk and could barely sleep. It is clear that the talented young musician was in a lot of anguish yet she maintained a positive disposition.

Her last tweet was on Thursday 27th March 2014 where she tweeted, "I love and hate my life"

May she RIP....Amen.
